Have you seen a little bump on your pet with a hole in the middle? And does your dog like to visit where do the bunnies live? A Botfly enters a pet’s body through the nose, mouth, or wound or any hole and then migrates to an area of the skin where it grows.
The little hole it creates is just for breathing, and you can sometimes see it pop it’s head out. Removal, especially if the cuterebra is large, can require surgery to enlarge the hole and pull the larva out and the infected tissue.
